The Challenge:

The Dispatcher will coordinate and schedule employees in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

What you'll do:

1. Schedules employees for pick-up and delivery; selects most efficient routes for each driver.
2. Recieves, screens, and takes appropriate action on all service calls.
3. Oversees equipment availability; assigns drivers, trucks, and extra drivers when needed.
4. Consolidates orders into truckloads for specific destinations.
5. Anticipates weather complications along routes and at the drivers destinations; communicates delays and route changes as necessary.
6. Maintains radio and/or phone contact with drivers; receives and dispatches response and emergency aid when needed.
7. Maintains and reviews billing and operation records; monitors daily logs for errors and/or compliance violations.
8. Monitors drivers working hours to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
10. Work outside normal business hours

5. Ability to solve problems as they arise.
6. Strong leadership skills to ensure drivers compliance with direction and assignments.
7. Basic understanding of geographical area and mapping programs to facilitate efficient routing.
8. Proficient with or able to quickly learn dispatch and recordkeeping systems.
9. Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure.
10. Thorough understanding of traffic control industry.
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle NetSuite, NeXT Service or similar software, Google Earth and Maps.
12. High school diploma or equivalent required.
13. Associate’s degree or vocational school training preferred.
14. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
15. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
