The Opportunity: Step into the role of Safety Technician and become a key player in ensuring everyone’s safety, but don’t worry—you’re not a cop! Instead, you’re the go-to safety guru, using your skills to collaborate, train, and lead our team in safe work practices. Your mission? Make sure every project is planned and executed with safety front and center, using all the resources at FC Traffic Control.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborative Planning: Work hand-in-hand with Area Managers, Supervisors, and Leads from start to finish, ensuring each job is flawlessly planned and safely executed.
- Training & Monitoring: Take the lead in training, overseeing orientations, and keeping a sharp eye on safety at every stage, from pre-task planning to accident reporting.
- Leadership in Safety: Step up as the safety leader, conducting training sessions, supporting investigations, and stopping work when it’s necessary to keep everyone safe.
- Problem-Solving: Be the safety problem-solver extraordinaire, ensuring compliance with all regulations and making sure the paperwork is spot on.
- Emergency Response: Be there when it counts—guide personnel to get the care they need and keep all safety training up-to-date and well-documented.
- Comprehensive Review: Dive into Task Hazard Analyses and travel to job sites (sometimes overnight) to make sure our safety protocols are always in play.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Leadership Excellence: Show off your top-notch supervisory skills with clear and effective communication, whether you’re writing or speaking.
- Organizational Mastery: Your organizational skills are legendary—attention to detail, time management, and meeting deadlines are your superpowers.
- Tech-Savviness: You’re a whiz with Microsoft Office 365 (OneDrive, Lists, Teams, SharePoint) or similar software.
- Experience & Certification: Bring your high school diploma (or equivalent), OSHA 10 and 30 certifications, Flagger certification (within 30 days of hire), and at least 3 years of Traffic Control experience. If you’ve already proven yourself at FC Traffic Control, even better!
Physical & Other Requirements:
- Physical Strength: Lift 25 to 55 pounds with ease.
- Driving Ability: Must be 25 years old, Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR—no problem.
- Flexibility: Ready to roll with long hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergencies.
- Compliance: Pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
