The Challenge

As a Print Shop Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting the operations of our print shop. Working closely with the printing team, you will assist in various tasks related to the production and delivery of printed materials. Your responsibilities will include preparing materials for printing, operating printing equipment, organizing finished products, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the print shop.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist in preparing materials for printing, including loading paper, adjusting settings, and ensuring proper alignment.
  • Operate printing machinery under the guidance of experienced staff, following safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on printing equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Monitor printed materials for quality defects and assist in troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Support the finishing process by trimming, binding, laminating, or otherwise preparing printed materials for delivery.
  • Keep track of inventory levels for printing supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including storing materials and equipment properly.
  • Provide general assistance to the printing team as needed, including helping with packaging, shipping, and other tasks. 

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Familiarity with printing processes and equipment is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when preparing materials and performing quality checks.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting 50 pounds, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as needed in a dynamic work environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a print shop or similar production environment is advantageous but not required.
  • This position typically involves working in a print shop environment, which may include exposure to loud noises, printing fumes, and machinery.
  • Depending on the workload, occasional overtime or weekend hours may be required.
