The Challenge:

The Fleet Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a company's fleet of vehicles to ensure they are safe and reliable for use. They perform routine inspections, diagnose and troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs and maintenance as needed.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Perform routine inspections and maintenance of company vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake repairs.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles and determine the appropriate repairs needed.
  3. Perform repairs and maintenance, including engine and transmission work, electrical repairs, and brake and suspension repairs.
  4. Maintain accurate records of vehicle repairs and maintenance activities, including parts used and labor hours.
  5. Communicate with fleet management and supervisors regarding repair needs, maintenance schedules, and vehicle availability.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  7. Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines in performing all work activities.
  8. Collaborate with other technicians and mechanics to share knowledge and expertise.
  9. Keep up to date with new developments in automotive technology and make recommendations for improvements to fleet maintenance policies and procedures. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a trade school program in automotive technology is preferred.
  2. 2+ years of experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
  3. ASE certification in one or more areas of automotive repair is preferred.
  4. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment, including computerized diagnostic equipment.
  5. Knowledge of automotive systems and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
  6. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  7. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
