The Challenge:

The Fleet Mechanic will perform maintenance on the fleet of vehicles and equipment as needed.  

What You’ll Do:

  1. Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on vehicles, equipment and machinery.
  2. Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
  3. Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
  4. Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  5. Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.
  6. Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
  7. Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
  8. Prepares reports documenting work performed.
  9. Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  10. Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned. 


What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a trade school program in automotive technology is preferred.
  2. 2+ years of experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
  3. ASE certification in one or more areas of automotive repair is preferred.
  4. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment, including computerized diagnostic equipment.
  5. Knowledge of automotive systems and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
  6. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  7. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
